DEBBY SMITS

Debby Smits has been on the latin dance scene for more than 10 years and has become a force to be reckoned with as an instructor and performer.

Debby has trained with the best instructors worldwide. Every year Debby goes overseas to train and keep up with latest in Latin Dancing. In 2005 she successfully completed a master instructor course in Salsa with Edie Lewis and Al Espinoza in Los Angeles.

Debby is professionally trained and has obtained a Master Instructors Certificate for teaching Salsa and other Latin dance styles. Her training has taken Debby all around the world, from Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Barcelona, Paris, to train with the best in the business.

Nicknamed the "Technician" by her students, knowing her skills and being able to teach her students precisely. Many of her former students are now known instructors and performers nationally and internationally.

Over the years Debby has taught, besides her former studio, at numerous venues including, Casablanca, Club Brazil, The Stuffed Duck. Also having taught at Bond and Griffith University, High schools around Brisbane and national and international.

Debby has introduced Rueda, L.A on1 style, N.Y on2 style salsa and Ladies Styling and Bachata to Brisbane long before it was becoming popular, and will keep the finger on the pulse for any new development.

Known for her creative choreographies, her performance troop has performed at many Latin parties and Events. And recently they have been selected to perform at the prestigious West Coast Salsa Congress in Los Angeles May 2006.

We have been invited and chosen to perform at the last 5 Sydney Salsa Congresses, and have entertained the crowd with our very creative choreographies.

The Latin Energy Team is always staying on top with latest in Latin dancing, and are professionally trained to teach.

In addition to teaching and performing, Debby has become a Latin Salsa DJ to be reckoned with, fast building a reputation as the DJ for the Dancers, her smooth style of music mixed with hard hitting songs, keeps the dancers on the floor alll night.
