- All contestants must register by August 15, 2010.
- Contestant must be 18 years +
- Costumes are permitted and encouraged.
- A maximum of 2 props is allowed. Any props need to be noted to the ASSC prior to
closure of registration. A prop is defined as any object other than your costuming.
However, as soon as any part of your costume is detached from the body (e.g. jacket,
hat, wig, etc) it is also classified as a prop. In any team shows, if the item of
clothing is removed by all dancers at the same time and used in the exact same way
by all the dancers, it only counts as one prop.
- Contestants will dance individually to their own music for a minimum of 1.5 minutes
and maximum of 2 minutes.
- All choreographed Shine routines must be at least 70% Salsa. 30% of any other dance
style is permitted. This applies to both music and dance.
- Competitor’s chosen Salsa rhythm (e.g. On1 or On2) must be maintained throughout
the routine.
- Competitors need to provide two (2) ready-to-play CDs. One track per CD. The DJ
will not slow down or speed up your music for you.
- The judges will appreciate the diversity of Salsa dancing; therefore any style of
Salsa will be permitted i.e. Cuban, LA, New York, On1 or On2 etc.
- ASSC organizers reserve the right for any photography or filming during the competition/event.
- ASSC organizers will not accept responsibility for loss or injury to persons or
possessions in relation to this event.

All judges have been specifically selected to ensure a balance of styles are covered
(Salsa and other) and for their involvement with Solo performances (individual and
team shines).
All judges will be familiar with the rules and judging criteria.

will be showcasing.
- Competitors need to provide two (2) ready-to-play CDs. One track per CD.
